2004 Birdspace: A Post-Audubon Artists Aviary
Contemporary Arts Center, New Orleans
This exhibition documented the widespread use of bird imagery in contemporary art, a theme that was appropriate for New Orleans, once the home to John James Audubon. Rubin divided the artworks into four categories: The Humanity of All Living Things; Mortality, Loss, Remembrance, and Transformation; Identity and Autobiography; and Satirical Gaming. The exhibition traveled to three other venues.
